In our last OFSTED inspection (January 2006) we were pleased to see that the inspection team agreed with the school that we are an effective and improving school with many strengths. The school was judged satisfactory or good in all categories. It was pleasing to note in the report that:
- teaching and learning is ‘often good and on occasions, exceptional’;
- students enjoy school and appreciate the support and care they receive;
- student behaviour is good and the school is a civilised community with very little bullying;
- the newly formed Learning Support Unit provides good support for students;
- community involvement and links with our partner primary and special schools are good;
- a well informed governing body provides good support for the school;
- leadership and management of the school is good and is focused on further improvement;
- the school is well placed to improve further.
