A message to all students thinking about studying at Sheringham…
Dear Student
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Sheringham Sixth Form. I am very proud of the achievement of our students in terms of their commitment to achieving top results and preparing for the next stage of their education or chosen career. A detailed prospectus is available to download from this site.
We pride ourselves on the high numbers of students who get into their first choice of university, including world-class universities such as Cambridge. We have two ex-students starting there in September 2011, one to read Law and the other Medicine.
A key ingredient in our success is ensuring that all students choose appropriate A-level courses and there are minimum GCSE entry requirements for all A-level subjects. We are pleased to offer relevant vocational courses and now offer a one year BTEC course in Work Skills. At the end of this course students may wish to stay on to study other higher-level vocational courses or AS Levels.
Enrichment activities are a very important feature of sixth form life and they provide students with invaluable experiences to boost UCAS and/or employment applications. We also have a comprehensive Activities Week for Year 12 students each July.
What can we offer you?
A first class academic education in your chosen subjects
-
A unique environment to develop as an individual and make new friends
-
Support and guidance from a dedicated Sixth Form tutor team
-
Great facilities including from September 2011 a newly refurbished common room, study room and ICT suite. The college has a new wireless network using the latest in Wi-Fi hotspot technology. We have wellequipped specialist facilities for all subjects including modern drama andmusic rooms, a media suite and of course an all-weather sports’ pitch. I am looking forward to building on the success of our Sixth Form and helping each and every student achieve what they want for the next stage in their life whether in higher education or employment. I look forward to meeting you in the very near future.
