As excavator and discoverer of the tomb of King Tutankhamen, Howard Carter has won a place in the archaeologist’s hall of fame. He was born on March 9th, 1874 in Kensington, London, the youngest son of eight. He grew up in Swaffham. He had no formal education, although his father, an artist, trained him in the fundamentals of drawing and painting. 

On November 26th 1922 Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamen's burial Chamber.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18.
